| Economics |
Required courses:
EC 101 Economic Issues and Policy
EC 102 Principles of Economics
EC 306 Microeconomics or EC 307 Macroeconomics
* An additional three Economics courses at the 300- level
* One course in statistics |
This minor is particularly useful for students who are preparing for graduate or professional school in another field or want to pursue an interest in economics but do not want to complete the entire major.
Suggested course sequencing:
Econ 101, 102 and (306 or 307) need to be taken in that order. Students will find it beneficial to take those courses in consecutive semesters so that they better recall the material in earlier courses. The department recommends students take the upper-division economics electives after taking microeconomics or macroeconomics, but a minor can be completed in as few as 3 semesters. |
| Organizational Management |
Required Courses:
EC 101 Economic Issues and Policy
EC 202 Intro to Organizational Management
EC 211 Financial Accounting
EC 401 Senior Seminar in Strategic Management
* At least one of the following courses: EC 205, Industrial/Organizational Psychology; EC 210, Investments; EC 212, Financial Accounting; EC 240 Business and Society; EC 327 Organizational Theory; or EC 370, Internship
|
This minor is particularly useful for students who want to combine a traditional liberal arts major with a background in business and management.
Suggested course sequencing:
Students should try to take all of the other courses before Econ 401, the senior seminar, which is typically taken in spring of the senior year. This minor can be completed in as few as 2 semesters, but students typically spread the classes out over a few years.
