Internships
The depart
The department strongly encourages majors to complete at least one internship while at Agnes Scott. Internships are invaluable for students, who gain insight into future careers, begin to establish a network of professional contacts, and learn how businesses or nonprofit organizations operate.
Internships can be done during the summer or during the academic year. Our Economics and EOM students have completed internships at many different organizations in Atlanta and around the United States. In the last few years students have interned at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Hewitt Associates, Merrill Lynch, and Southern Company, among others.
Students can receive academic credit for some internships. The Economics Department usually offers EC 370 (Economics Internship) in the spring semester. Students can also take EC 450 for academic credit for an internship during the fall or spring semesters.
